The NMB minebea PSU (they don't produce them anymore, so I've ressorted to ebay for that one and got it by pure luck) is my least worry *gg* - hm --- what 's I wanna say? ah - for 16 months now. Here a piece, there a piece.
LOL, yes that would drive me nuts! It'd be out the Window or my hair would be all over the floor from me pulling it out in clumps, that's for sure ;D

hehe You was desperate for a new machine to want to spend that kind on money twice rather than just waiting. :D

Still the Athlon 64 should blow your P4 away, especially at code compiling.
Yeah, I'm not especially happy with the P4, but like I said I was desperate. And it is precisely the code compiling which is most important to me, since I love to make my own Linux systems using Linux From Scratch, and I'm always compiling my own kernels; it takes forever at the moment...

A half-decent machine for 8 weeks, nice and quiet so I can get some serious work done (I have to use headphones and have my MP3s blasting my eardrums to pieces at the moment), and something beautiful to look forward to in 8 weeks...

:D

shame on you! How dare you blasting away your eardrums?! *rofl* Well, just take care not to get some impairment on hearing from that.

Hehe, well it's only until the new machine arrives in the post, so shouldn't end up with any serious hearing loss (only temporarily while my ears ring for a while).

j/k :D

Better to have ears ringing than listening to the irritating zzzzzz of the PSU virbrating on the case, IMHO... lol.
