Looking for a small OS

Post by jskifresh »

I am looking for a small OS. I am trying to put something on an old COMPUADD laptop just for the kicks of it. It has a 486sx processor, 115MB of HDD space and 4MB of RAM. If anyone knows of an OS with a GUI that will work with this system, could they point me to a website or something. I would like to see this thing boot into an Operating System. Any help would be great, thanx!

QNX, man!  Back in the day they had a demo that included a full GUI, web browser, text editor, and a couple other little apps, all running off a 1.44MB floppy!

If you want something small, and fast, QNX is your answer.

I don't quite recall how I got my copy of QNX... but it's fully legal, anyway, so I would imagine there's still a free download from www.qnx.ca (that's right... it's Canadian :)  hehe... yep, so am I :))

If you can't find the download, let me know, and I'll see if I can find my ISO.

Cheers,
Jeff
