This forum needs a Search-function!

Question about which tools to use, bugs, the best way to implement a function, etc should go here. Don't forget to see if your question is answered in the wiki first! When in doubt post here.

It would be really nice to have a search function on this forum!
Chase? Can u fix it? Or else; show how the database is done so i can program a search function for you.. :-)

I second the motion. I don't know how hard it would be to set up, but it would be nice to be able to type in "floppy" or "GDT" or "A20" and see all the posts containing the words you entered.

Chase is in the process of developing a new forum, as I understand it.  He may've already implemented this functionality.  He's simply run into a snag... a rather large one, in fact; HD/file system corruption.

There's actually a message below asking if anyone has any knowledge of file recovery in ext2 file systems.  Hopefully someone can help out here.

Searching tghe forums:

1) Go to google
2) Click on "Advanced Search"
3) Enter "www.osdev.org" in the Domain box.
4) Enter your search criteria in the Find box(es)
5) Click "Google Search"

voila!

hi,

The solution is same but simpler.


1)go to GOOGLE
2)type
       your_search_term site:www.osdev.org

2)click "Google Search"
