Hi,

I've noticed this for some time, but have tolerated it. Now it is time to recognize it and announce the problem. If I read some topics and then hit the Mark As Read it unmarks the topics I've read.

This might sound stupid considering I setup the site but anyway, where is the "Mark As Read" button? The threads should be automatically marked as read and you should only ever have to unmark them.

Anyone else seeing the problem?

The link within the particular forum. If I read a thread and then when I'm done I don't wish to read the rest and press the link, it unmarks all the ones I've already read, then I have to hit it again to get it to work. I get the impression I may not being doing this right? I haven't tried for all Forums, but will after I post this and report back.

OK, if I use the Mark All Forums Read, it does it without failure. However, if I use the Mark All Topics Read, then that forum's topics revert to what I hadn't read before I read them. Does that make sense?

Don't know, but every page does change with what I've done, so I suspect it is new. I don't know all the caches available/used. Then when I hit mark All Topics Read, the one's I've read become unread as if I just started looking at everything for the first time, in that session.

OK, it seems to be fixed, to a point. If I put something into a Topic, and the list of topics shows I've read that Topic. Then I hit the Mark All Topics Read, and all the rest report read, and the one I just created becomes unread. I think this sounds right, because I literally never read it, wrote it. All other do now clear from my unreads...so I think it is fixed?

Hi,

I get the same problem - go into a forum, read some new posts, then click on "mark all read", and the topics I'd just read become unread again.

It is hard to pin down the exact behaviour though - I'm not sure if it only happens if you use "open link in new window" to view the new posts without refreshing the list of topics before marking them read, or....

Cheers,

Brendan

I'm still trying and I can't get it to do this, I'll keep trying but if either of you get a repeatable pattern please let me know. You aren't blocking any cookies are you? Does it happen with other ISPs and/or web browsers?

Pleaase excuse my ignorance, I don't know php or the forum layout, the design structure. But, is it likely linked to the forum color profile I'm using? I am using the one that is supposed to be like the old Mega-Tokyo one...Blue and Blue, with more blue. ;-)
