Where is Tim Robinson?
Where is Tim Robinson?
Where has he gone to? Not a word from him in ages!!
Anyone know what he is up to now?
Anyone know what he is up to now?
Re:Where is Tim Robinson?
You're not the first to wonder, not the first to ask and not the first to get no answer (quite probably). I at least haven't seen him in about 2 years and I think he's taken on another part of his life.

Re:Where is Tim Robinson?
I had a last contact with him in April 05.
Hi, I'm quite alright
It's just hard finding time for OS development any more. The people who pay me to develop software are filling up all my time...
Re:Where is Tim Robinson?
Is there no way to contact him? I guess he was in UK. He must be somewhere here on net!! Tried to search about Mobius, but dint get any information about Tim..
Re:Where is Tim Robinson?
May I ask for the "why" you need to talk to him that bad?
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.
Re:Where is Tim Robinson?
Just wanted to know about "Life, After developing an about to full fledge OS"May I ask for the "why" you need to talk to him that bad?
Nothing personal...
Re:Where is Tim Robinson?
Ah... so it's nothing any of us others here could answer. Or could we, Pype?

Re:Where is Tim Robinson?
nope. All i could tell is that his user account e-mail (pavlovskii) was still working last time i contacted him...
he seems to appear as a guest here in 2005 ...
@solar: Or maybe what you meant is that Clicker is a "fully-fledge OS" and that i'm now back to real life (if preparing a PhD in CS can qualify as 'real life' )

Re:Where is Tim Robinson?
Ah, so you not only have an almost full-fledged OS, but you're this close to entering the Real World (tm) and rapidly losing interest / time in OS development, too... ;D

Re:Where is Tim Robinson?
Saying that i'm "losing interest" in OSdev would be excessive, imho. But indeed, there's been monthes since i did a CVS update and even more time since i did a CVS commit ... in the same time, i'm investing more and more time in googling infos about the nintendo DS, and thinking of implementing the so-long-awaited Clicker GUI on top of XGl/reiser4 rather than waiting for Clicker to support it ...Solar wrote: Ah, so you not only have an almost full-fledged OS, but you're this close to entering the Real World (tm) and rapidly losing interest / time in OS development, too... ;D
But i guess that's not the point here, is it?
Re:Where is Tim Robinson?
I just got an email from Pype asking how things were going. It's good to see the regular faces long after I stopped showing up.
I've pretty much stopped OS development -- at least for the time being -- because these people are taking up my time instead.
I don't suppose anyone has looked at extending Mobius while I've been away?

Re:Where is Tim Robinson?
@pype: ah, you're a busy fella too. Have just one colloquium left, and that one 's today - then the first year on my way to msc is done I reckon. *pfoooh* Well - I have hardly time to do osdeving in the last months, and the summer holidays will be occupied with going out with my fairy and doing sports ...
@Tim: nice to read from you again. Life's going on and focus needs to shift sometimes, eh? Stay safe

Re:Where is Tim Robinson?
The point is that it will get worse once you finished your PhD and start the "real" life... but if you mean this is all a bit OT, I agree.Pype.Clicker wrote: But i guess that's not the point here, is it?

Re:Where is Tim Robinson?
Updating my project list... Is http://mobius.sourceforge.net still the current website? The page is mostly errors about being able to connect to MySQL. I think SF did something with the project databases since mobius isn't the only OS project having this problem.Tim Robinson wrote: I don't suppose anyone has looked at extending Mobius while I've been away?
