Sorry about breaking a rule, but I'm going to add a last statement.

If any mod would've cut the discussion short without any sort of nice attempt to silence it, that would've been a very bad moderation. We've discussed with Dex quite a number of times, all of us have by now, and we have tried to reason and play nice. For one, we are still not moderating quite as much as people expect we are doing. We will not cut somebody out unless he resorts to pure foul play (on the order of repeatedly spamming the forum or wrecking the OSFaq). Dex still discusses and answers people. He won't be cut out until he only posts replies that are purely off-topic (and then he'd still just be moved to off-topic).
Ryu wrote: I think the key point is respect to the rest of the community. Regardless, I think people will have "special respect" for moderators and I think thats fair enough. However, if you don't agree with a moderator in something on topic then by all means it should be spitted out like you would with others. When it comes down to a warning which I did remember Solar giving Dex, you should then give this "special respect" to the moderator, its simply because they got the power to do something about it when something is wrong, and it is why theres moderators in the first place is it not? Otherwise I don't see any point of being moderator.
Moderators don't need special respect. You don't have to look up to a moderator just because he is a moderator, when he replies like a normal forum member would do. The only time when you have to give some attention to it is when you're explicitly being pointed at some bad-doing since s/he is the person that will correct it. That's the only thing that's special about a moderator and as far as I'm concerned what a moderator should do. Moderate flamewars (I've been tempted for a few times to lock & move this, but I've kept my temper since another mod was present), tell people that misbehave to not do that and to fix things that "break" the forum.
I welcome Dex to the board if he learns that his way is not the only way, he needs to realise assembly is not the best way to do everything.
As much as Dex might've insulted me and as much as he might disagree with me, I welcome Dex to the board without if's.

Hi,
Let me start off by saying that i'm not on anybodys side on this, i just want the forum to be nice and quiet.. ;)

@ Solar:
I have some comments on the quotes from dex4u where he offended you.
Atleast 3 or 4 of those quotes was replys to your insults, where you pointed out what a bad speller he is ( he's dyslectic btw ) or how badly commented and/or written his code is.
Thats pretty low..

@bubach:
Both Solar and Dex have -- in private messages i exchanged with them -- recognized that they have been too quick on replying to each other sarcasm. And i'm convinced that both regret things have gone this far.

Please, now let some time to pass over this. This is the best thing we can do, and this is why this thread is closed.
