What programming languages do you know? Not just know of or some of. Which ones are you truly experienced with? The best one to know for OSDEV is ASM. C, Pascal and x86 machine code can help to know too. If you don't have a great knowledge of ASM then you NEED to learn it. DOS, LINUX and other operating system use very different methods of programming then your own OS does. With DOS, LINUX, etc. just about everything is done for you. Keep up the good work and make sure to post your OS on OSDEV.ORG.

OK, listen. You're young, so I'll except SOME naiveity (I didn't spell that right, did I? ), but I cannot stand this reply. You are TOO full of yourself and obviously have some ego issues. Get one thing straight: No matter how good YOU think you are, there are at hundreds of people better than you. Also, do NOT think you will be better than Yahoo! and Microsoft. These are LARGE corporations, and as soon as you try to take anything away ferom them, they WILL NOT STOP until your entire life is ruined, and you are forced to give everything to them. Now YOU may think that I'm overreacting, but I've seen what lengths these guys will go through to keep themselves profitable. So I suggest you learn some humility before you start declaring your "abilities"
Write a good or original OS, upload it on the net and if it is a better job than the other OSes then you could be a genius.. Everyone can post something on this message board.

just more than 30 messages about a stupid question like this?! The only answer is to start coding and posting to this message board a looot of OS coding related problems, no matter if they come from a 11 years old programmer or from a 86 year old assembly guru, ****!
I agree totally with "Seed". We shouldn't be wasting room on this message board to fight over whether or not an 11-year-old can write an OS. How did "Seed" come up with an "86" year old programmer? Must have x86 on the mind .
