Not only this expression isn't known in Vienna *gg*

I've just found it whilst looking for english word for "waschlappen" where I 've encountered "*****" & "pansy" - insults for some kinda men. And upon searching further ("queer" for "tunte") I've suddenly found the "bl?merant" one.

Just wanted to know if that's an usual word in Germany for we in Vienna don't use it. Except of maybe very old ppl who might know it.

Chances are the man on the street in Germany won't know it either. It's rather stilted; something used by pre-war literature, (would-be) nobles, and dandys. (And in case you ask, I got it from pre-war literature. :-D )
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.
