didn't get anything out of that either, can't understand the code at all. Surely, I do see what it do - but I can't connect one thing with the other. Like I said, I really need someone to go through the basics with me.

One thing you might look into is yaboot, which most Linux distributions use, although I don't know if it works on old world Macs. For old world Mac don't know if you can even install your own boot loader. I think Linux use s some boot loader(BootX?) that loads your os after the Mac OS. I think I saw some abandoned PowerPC OS project on Sourceforge some where. While it was just a crapppy copy of DOS, It did have a boot loader, alhtough it was the kind that loaded the OS from OS 9, but it may be good enough for development now.

I have recently started working on a hobby os on PowerPC, although I will be using my iMac for development and testing. I'm currently planning to use Mac OS X and its developeer tools to develop with(as soon as I resolve to boot loader situation), and I was wondering if they are sufficient, should I use Linux? Mac OS X is a Unix and has GCC, but I don't know if Apple has done any thing to it that might sop it from developing an OS.
