Eh .... i understand you, but unfortunately you don't have much choice:
- either you know the card hardware enough to talk to it (e.g. for nvidia cards we have rather enough infos to start), but there is little chance you'll find someone having the same hardware to perform the tests.
- either your card is modern enough to support VBE3 *and* implements pmode interface correctly (it looks that even bioses that support it have trouble with it -- unverified info)
- or you use VM86/RM to call back your vesa interrupt ...
None of the options is actually very appealing ... "Welcome to the Real World"
