Anyone have anything to add?

Question about which tools to use, bugs, the best way to implement a function, etc should go here. Don't forget to see if your question is answered in the wiki first! When in doubt post here.

Anyone have anything to add?

Post by Schol-R-LEA »

Earlier today, I added links to this forum and some of the projects discussed here on the OperatingSystemDesigners page of Ward's Wiki - an excellent source of programming theory information, BTW, if rather divisive. Does anyone have anything to add to what I've posted there?

Never mind. Only minutes after I posted the information, a few of the posters replied with an attitude of hurt condescension that anyone here would even dare to call themselves an OS designer. Forget I said anything about it.

Wow, that is some of the most arrogant writing I've read in a long time. I'm glad you posted a link to that so I can better learn how not to act.

Thanks for the link, it was good for a laugh! At first I wasn't sure if it was satire or if this guy's for real. I suspect the latter, but that just makes it funnier. ;D

Hmm ... i was wondering "who the *** is that guy to claim there's no design in Clicker without having asked me if i had some design idea to share first" ... Then "but who the **** has decreeted 'ExoKernel' was a design principle to follow when making an OS' ...

Then finally i saw the guys were doing some consulting job ... lol.

wow, that lad mentions my Project. What honour is buried in this I don't know but I wish I could take a stick and fling it to that lad's head to wake him up.

Whaddaruddyhell does that guy think:*they re stuck in dma and vfs*? They? That gives me first a slight thrill and second a bit of laughter. Nerd thou this is. Should wake up and don't mock about 'Ich verstehe nichts deutsches'. Should use babel fishes and his brain. Nerd.

Never mind, I'm just a bit pissed.

Yes, very arrogant writing...
I wasn't trying to do a "good" design in some absolute sense
And he's talking about bad designs ::)

Why would he bother asking you? That'd be like asking Engler and crew about the reasons for an exokernel design, and it's plainly obvious to this man that the people who invented exokernels are too stupid to understand what an exokernel is good for. Likewise, if there are any design principles in your own OS, he'd doubtless have to explain to you what they are, not the other way around... ::)

This guy's a real riot! The more I read, the funnier he gets! Of course, it's probably the case that "I just don't get it". Heh.

Maybe I'm a little slow, but after about three dozen years I finally caught on to the fact that the more ignorant someone is, the lower their opinion of other people's opinions tends to me. It's far easier to criticize than it is to understand. From this guy's writing, it's quite clear that he understands very little about operating system design, which is why everything is so obvious to him, and anyone who doesn't see it the same way is a moron.

(Hint: If the answer to any important question is obvious to you, you're missing something.)

OS Developer's WikiFAQ - http://www.osdev.org/osfaq2 (Unix reimplementation heavy, barely acknowledges anything else, avoid like the plague lest you get to understand Unix and be irredeemably corrupted)
I think he doesn't know anything about OS's....
I think it's time for him, that he'll learn how to read .. (I mean, come on, this really can't be serious, he's just a win.....)

I just couldn't withstand the lust to give him something to gnaw on and have added a slight edit to his comment about my web. Shall this lad be careful whom he invites to dinner for he might need a big cutlery. ]:-<. Did I already mention that I 'm furiously pissed by that arrogant not-knowing-anything-but-preserving-to-do-so-lad?

@Dennis: Maybe you are right, but I usually like to be asked what I 'm up to ere one adds some INfo 'bout me to his site. Everything else, included Deductions from INfo I've posted on my own wiki, is inadequate and causes me to stand upright in anger - I'm quick with it and have not much patience with arrogant morons like this lad.

Hi,

Google brought up a few interesting links about Richard Kulisz:

I couldn't help myself & did some baiting of my own :)

Cheers,

Done :)

I suggest we leave that guy believe that he rules the world and that he knows the Truth about Everything and all the other things he wish to believe.

We have better to do with our preciouss time than fighting with a stubborn mind, don't we ?
