Earliest Deadline first

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this question my professor posed in OS class today. He wanted to know if anyone knew the inherent difficulty in implementing the earliest deadline first in an operating system. If anyone has any ideas, that would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance.

Hm... homework is usually for you to answer, not for us here on the 'net.

But I'll give you a hint: What does your scheduler need to know when it's expected to schedule the Earliest Deadline first?
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.
