Viridis r3

Post by stonedzealot »

I don't mean to sound pompous or anything, but Viridis release three (interrupts) is out. viridis.sf.net. Anyway, the reason that I think any of you would like to know is that I think Viridis is one of the best commented kernels yet. So...if you're having trouble getting started or trouble understanding, give it a whirl.

Trust me, I've asked enough stupid questions to know that it's not fun, and hopefully you won't have to ask many after reading through this.

And, if you don't think it's worth a crap, feel free to flame my @$$ off with complaints =). Always looking for feedback, especially negatives.

i was able to download the source and image ok. however, the installation instructions did not work for using partcopy in windows. i believe partcopy wants the length in bytes, not in sectors, and 1C did not work, but 36e3 (length of kernel.bin in bytes in hex) worked fine!!

Pype: This is probably because I posted this message right after posting the file to the sf servers (and they can take up to a day to sync, maybe even more). Please, try again later, if you wish.

HOS: Well damn. Thanks alot for pointing that out...the question is where did I get that from? =). Unfortunately. I'll change that right now...
