More used names:
Therx
Cosmos
DOS
NetBSD
Valeo
Amirux
Cipher
I'm not about the last two but they both have entries in my failed attempt at OSID database. (I'm starting a new version combined with the library which allows users to add documents and add fields to the database.)

Re:OS Names
The ? often falls off, so Mobius is also correct.Tux wrote:Mobius (Actually, the "o" has 2 dots on top of it)

Re:OS Names
of course, there's also
Xenix (MS's attempt to do a unix)
Irix (Silicon Graphics' unix)
RiscOS
Solaris (aka SunOS)
Mach (the microkernel, which MacOS X is based on)
System V (another unix -- the one that is opposed to BSD)

Re:OS Names
The sheer length of that list, not to speak of growth rate, made us chose a project name instead of a product name, postponing naming our product until we actually have one.
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.
Re:OS Names
++ all the OSes here

Add your OS here too, but check first if it is taken.
