How does CHS work?

I'm knew to disk storage. Could someone explain to me what cylinders. heads, sectors, and tracks are, and perhaps what they do? Thanks a lot!

Ok, I admit I had to do 2 searches because I couldn't remember the thread, but was it really so hard?
