runnign compilers

has anyone goten any compiler to run on their OS? i was jsut wondering if id have to recompile gcc under linux, with my own libs, in order to get ti to run under my own OS

A couple of people have: I know that Mike Rieker from alt.os.development has. Apparently it's not easy, and your OS needs to be fairly big before gcc and binutils will work.

On the other hand, NASM is pretty easy to port.
