Packard Bell? They should be called "Packard Hell"! I to have had bad experiences with keeping them running longer than a couple of days before something else goes wrong.

could you please shut down those "XYZ" brand suxx ... thanks. Check out what BIOS you have and make sure INT 15h apply there. RBIL is full of such information.
