New Mini Kernel

Post by Joshua E. Horn »

Hello,
I've just started writing my own mini kernel, I wrote it into the bootsector of a floppy, and it worked, it booted! Right now it can only do a few things, rebooting the computer, re loading the kernel, and it has a primitive user input console.  :D

I wish I could think of a name for it though, it can't just keep calling it kernel. ???

I finally thought of a name for it, I am calling it FloppyBSK.
(Floppy Boot Sector Kernel).

FloppyBSK hits the web, well sorta

Here is my *small* FloppyBSK site, no downloads.

;)
I've gotten FloppyBSK's kernel reload to work, and it even worked with LiLo.

I clicked on the last link (most recent) post you had, and it gave me an HTTP 404 error! (HTTP 404: File Not Found). Actually, it was FreeServer's "We Can't Find That Website" thing.
What's up with yur site?

Yeah, that's what I supposed. How far are you into it? Like, Beta? Or not even that far? ;)
