Hello,
I'm looking for an x86-64 OS to run on a hypervisor (preferably Xen) in a performant mode (preferably PVH mode) that provides a laundry list of security features. I was thinking of asking the hobbyist OS community about such things. Just wondering if there's a part of the forum where such a question would be appropriate.
Best wishes,
Ydawg

You can always post in general ramblings if you're not sure.
If your focus is on security, you probably want one of the BSDs, but I can never remember which one is which.

OpenBSD is the one with "security over everything". If you can think of a security option, it was probably at least considered there. They used CS limits to prevent data execution before the NX bit was a thing.Octocontrabass wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2024 11:40 pm If your focus is on security, you probably want one of the BSDs, but I can never remember which one is which.
