wiki edit timeout?

Post by ruik »

Hi,

I wanted to improve the MSI/MSI-X information and provide a brand new page for the MSI address/data pairs. I think the changes to PCI page are under moderation now, but my new MSI Register format page is likely gone. The net result of 1 hour contribution is exactly binary zero.

This likely happened due to the fact that I never saved that new page (to make it nice) but somehow there is a timeout which kicks users out of wiki edit. In my case, after about an hour I wanted to switch to the "source code view" and this is how I lost all my work. Note that I was working on that *whole time* and I was active in the visual editor. I think this is really not acceptable and it might discourage people from doing any further contributions.

Please provide me some hints how to edit the wiki without causing this issue.

You can create a user subpage for drafts of new pages and other large edits.
