Where can I get information???

Hi, I want to write my own little OS, but I need a lot of Information how to do this. The only tutorial I could find is

Run in a shop and buy the book "Modern Operationsystems" by Andrew S.Tannenbaum.
To collect theoretical information is the first and most important step !!!!
