Another wild guess, try a smaller usbdrive if your using something larger then 4GB.
I'm going to try grub boot again.If it fails, the following OS provides a viable solution.

I hadn't recognized the term when I came across it either, so I searched on it; apparently, "U-disk" is a fairly common term in several countries, mostly in Asia, I gather, but there was a reference to it being used in some European countries as well.
