Re: user name
Why not just create a new account? The loss of your posting record is hardly a big deal.

User Control Panel > Profile > Edit account settings > Username
It's right there.
It's right there.
When you start writing an OS you do the minimum possible to get the x86 processor in a usable state, then you try to get as far away from it as possible.
Syntax checkup:
Wrong: OS's, IRQ's, zero'ing
Right: OSes, IRQs, zeroing

Boy do I feel sheepish.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Re: user name
At least, I judge the credibility and trustworthiness of the users based on their number of stars and join-date. It indicates a lot of things.iansjack wrote:The loss of your posting record is hardly a big deal.
P.S. I've changed my user name with the capital M to indicate that it's my real first name. I didn't that we could change that, thanks.
Re: user name
Judging a poster on two posts, one of which is asking how to change their username may make a lot of sense to you. Not to me.
Re: user name
I meant, the user with more posts is more trust worthy, and vice versa. That's not always correct but is a good approximation.iansjack wrote:Judging a poster on two posts, one of which is asking how to change their username may make a lot of sense to you. Not to me.
The user that joined 10 years ago and is still here indicates that he's serious about OS development as compared to the one that joined, asked a question, and never returned.
Re: user name
The person I referred to had a total of two posts when I made that comment. (Now three.) Hardly a sufficient record to make any useful judgement.
Re: user name
Well, I'm sorry. I got you wrong.
I thought, you were saying that post-count didn't matter for ANYONE, not just for the OP.
