Hey all.

Suppose you could redesign LD's linker scripts for the 21-st century OS developers. What kind of stuff would you want?

In particular, what about linker scripts should change? How does your linker script look like, and how would you want to make it look if only the linker could understand it?

Linker scripts are one of the things that you do once and then you might not touch them in years. Yes, when I do touch them, I often need to read the manual, but given how rarely I do that, I would have to read things up with any syntax. It's not worth bothering too much, I'd just leave them as they are.
