What does your OS look like? (Screen Shots..)

Question about which tools to use, bugs, the best way to implement a function, etc should go here. Don't forget to see if your question is answered in the wiki first! When in doubt post here.

Please consider posting videos on websites other than YouTube, it is blocked in China (largest population), Pakistan (6th major population) and others.

Please consider complaining to your government to stop blocking websites that allow people to post what they think. Heck, we're pretty close to YouTube in that regard in terms of policy, so it's just a matter of time until you can't reach this site any more.

I appreciate that that makes life difficult for you, but I'm not convinced that the answer to state oppression is for the rest of the world to accede to that oppression.

In Russia we also have site blockings (fortunately, these are mostly political resources). Try TOR or I2P to bypass.

Ah, brynet. Good point.I didn't realize. I felt like using semantic markup. That's a forum bug. :)

muazzam: If your government is blocking you watching videos of Sortix, go fix your government. I realize that is a huge undertaking and all sorts of tragedies could occur (see what is happening other places where people fight for this), but it is unfortunately a necessity to lead a free life. I'm not complying with oppressive regimes. If you can't find a way to watch it anyway, tell me, and I'll see if we can't smuggle my video into your country in another way.

Oh, did you think of implementing a mouse driver?
You know your OS is advanced when you stop using the Intel programming guide as a reference.

Use a tool. Use meta-programming to generate code whenever it's faster than writing it yourself. A little sed and other conversions on the .asm file and you can convert it fairly quickly.

Note that, technically, under US copyright law at least (which covers this forum, if not me personally), bitmap fonts aren't copyrightable so the licence is irrelevant. This is because typefaces themselves are not copyrightable under US law (so that, for instance, works using typed text don't require royalties). Scalable fonts are considered "programs" (or at least some form of instructions) that generate typefaces, so are copyrightable.

Thank you for your info. I just applied public domain license because my whole OS uses it. :)

(On YouTube blocking)
All of you are right. By the way, we can neither 'complain to' nor 'fix' our government, it is worst.
