Interfacing USB keyboard with my OS

Interfacing USB keyboard with my OS

Hi,
I want to interface my inbuilt Laptop keyboard with my OS.
I could only find Serial Port Keyboard interface tutorial over net.
I am not sure whether is there any advantage of reading that article since mine is not a Serial Port Keyboard.
What should be the best link for learning interfacing of Keyboard? Would be better if it is USB interfacing.
What you suggest?
