Post count

All off topic discussions go here. Everything from the funny thing your cat did to your favorite tv shows. Non-programming computer questions are ok too.

Just to make sure I'm being clear. I don't think there's anything at all wrong with posts that, strictly speaking, aren't necessary. It's when unnecessary posts are made for a purpose irrelevant to communicating with the people on the board that I have a problem with.

I just dont care! Posting is Posting to me.... one's interpretation of SPAMMING is probabally not anothers! Isnt this board used to talk anyways...to JUST TALK?

I am not trying to piss anyone off, but lots of posting is not that big a deal as long as it is used in a correct context! For the people that dont have an IM program that want other's opinions... that just want to hang on df's AWESOME board and chat with people that have a common interest,..The art of AGI and SCI,..Isnt this the place to do it?

I really dont see what all the f*****g commotion is about!!

But this is Just my opinion!

Well the problem is we used to get people like zero who just posted stuff like "cool", "yup", ":)" and "you're right!" and I thought it really disrupted the threads.

I assumed it was because he was trying to increase his post count, so I suggested removing it altogether.

Silly stuff doesn't matter so much in the off-topic but just saying "cool!" doesn't really help agi discussion.

Yar, I love to post, but I always try to have a suggestion or a question that accompanies the thread. I think lots of posting (on topic) is a good idea, though, because there have been months on this board with very little activity, because no one was posting. I'd rather that someone posted something obvious (on topic) than people not frequent the board.

That was what I was talking about (forgot the name of it)
Karma enables people to press an increase/decrease button under the poster's avatar. Pressing the increase-button is saying that he has said something intelligent, pressing the decrease-button is saying he has said something unnecessary.

That wouldn't work because immature fools that don't like eachother, would just press down ::)
