Durand Miller wrote some support for 0.94, but he doesn't seem to have any of that on his site anymore.

I updated it for 0.97 a few years ago as well, but I didn't really test it.

I think the best way to achieve 2D/3D acceleration would be to generally use Vesa/VBE, but allow the use of modules for video card specifics. It would still work on every pc, but every now on then you could supply the user with driver updates.
