Heya, did you try any specific keywords? Cus I don't seem to find anything about the weak points of procfs in regard to debugging. And I'm not mocking you - I may have really overlooked something.

I can think of two weak points of procfs and other synthetic file systems, but not regarding debugging. One is that files are not permanent, which might seem unnatural and not intuitive to the user. And two, you can not create a resource by creating a file in a file system that corresponds to the specific resources. Though I think there may be solutions for these two problems. However I will not go futher, unless you ask, as you are talking about the disadvantages in regard to debugging, not in general.

@Sandras: the OP has a (banhammer) reputation for posting homework and never searching anything. There might not even be any weak point beyond academic purposes. Until he knows to explain what he intends to gain by asking those questions the answer will forever be: "nobody knows and nobody cares, go do your own research.", as berkus so brilliantly illustrated.

@OP: can I make the hint more obvious?
"Certainly avoid yourself. He is a newbie and might not realize it. You'll hate his code deeply a few years down the road." - Sortie
