New Solaris Internals book

Post by chase »

Version 2 of Solaris Internals which covers Solaris 10 is now shipping. A lot has changed in Solaris since the previous book that only covered Solaris 7. The book authors also have a website - http://solarisinternals.com. This book combined with the Open Solaris website are all you need to learn the ins and outs of Solaris. If you're looking to understand the really low level details of how a mature, enterprise level UNIX works this is probably one of the best places to start. Might be a little much for those completely new to system programming and operating system development.

Such a great book ! Quite not a tutorial for writing a kernel from scratch, rather an howto pro's do the job.
