for disk I/O

for disk I/O

I've been very confused about disk I/O.

Would one have to combine these tutorials to get working disk I/O, or am I going in the wrong direction:

http://wiki.osdev.org/ATA/ATAPI_using_DMA

Are these things even related?

I also tried the IDE tutorial a few times, but it seriously confused me each time

Maybe this field of study isn't for you...

.... or probably you didn't spend much time figuring the stuffs.
Programming is not about using a language to solve a problem, it's about using logic to find a solution !
