Sorry if I offended you, and yes If I want I can try, or am I not allowed to do so? If you think that knowing more means that you can judge other people and discourage them for doing what they want, then you have a problem. I have ALL RIGHTS to do whatever I want and to LEARN. I don't pretend to build even a 1/10000 part of next Windows, I just enjoy doing this and I want to do this as a personal project. The subtitle of this forums is "The Place to Start for Operating System Developers" so I don't think it's bad to ask for a problem. I know OS Dev is not an easy task, but anyone is born with a full-knowledge of everything and you must start at some point. I must agree that this forums are not to reply any question anyone answers about everything.

Don't worry I am not going to post again at this forums if I have to receive such an hostile reaction, so you'll be happy with your arrogance and your supremacy amongst others.

Yeesh, that reaction from one post? I am not quite understanding why you think you offended him nor why you are taking his reply so negatively. (nor where this "hostile reaction" that which you speak of is at.)

You are right - you can try learning C while developing an OS. Is it recommended? No. Will you make it far? Who knows. Can you try it? Of course - for all we know itll work out for you, specifically if you have experience with other C-like languages.

Idk, maybe because he "hopes" that I'm here only because I've stopped by to learn C. Maybe it's just my poor understanding of English but i think that is an offense to me. I just think there are other ways of saying that OS is a difficult task and that you must know quite well a lot of areas of computers. Because what I understand from his post that he is thinking "Aww.. another noob, let's see if he leaves this forums soon" As i've said maybe I have misunderstood what he has said, and in that case I apologise, but this is the impression that I get when he uses the word "hope".

Yes, berkus, you have a point. However if the OP wants to learn OS development while learning C, thats fine. He is obviously willing to try, and seems to know what he is doing. Generally, what works best for most people is to learn the language first, but an immersion in another country can do wonders as well.

Can we stop this discussion of "is it recommended etc etc" now before it becomes another flamewar?
