GRUB curious thing

I have seen an nvidia 9600GT on which I could probably play music by rendering 4-polygon scenes with different screen coverages. I have also seen a monitor going beep-be-be-beep on a resolution change, so I'm not amazed if you are actually overhearing a sidechannel in the graphics subsystem.
