I'm sorry i dont quite follow, is this in the padding files or the grub kernel command your talking about???

i really don't quite follow the (hint) thing.... i tried to compile the barebones c kernel with no alterations and it dose the same thing, i don't get it.
I'm going to look into maybe making my own bootloader then that might fix the problem but still, i may well be very noobish at the moment my studies have just picked up again and i have little time out of class to work on this as of late but i just want to get the most basic boot... too hard?
