GRUB VBE Mode Problems

GRUB VBE Mode Problems

Hi, I'm new to the forums, but not to OS dev (been doing it on and off for a couple of years).

So far everything I have done has been in text mode or basic VGA, but I want to play around with VBE modes. It seems the quickest way to do this is to get GRUB to set up the mode for me.

I've tried applying the patch for GRUB 0.97 from the wiki, as well as a couple of others I've found online, but with no success. Some patches report "0xFFFFFF00 is not found or supported" others list VBE 2.0 but will not list modes or test them.

I'm using stage2_eltorito for a CD image if it makes any difference, but I wanted to know if there are any special configure switches or if I'm missing something :cry:
Failing that has anyone got a working binary they could PM me?
