Re: Top 10 alternative-operating-systems
yes it is.
Also, (no offense Dex) but this is a very amature listing of OS's. It seems very unofficial and hear-say'ish.
As lower comments suggest, there are more advanced projects out there that the OP seemed to just overlook or rather didn't see due to poor research and a distant relationship with the area of work.

Re: Top 10 alternative-operating-systems
yea but he still made the list. Obviously none of us are going to create an OS that is widely used and adopted as linux became(except maybe LoseThos), so I think its quite an accomplishment to have something that can be fully functional enough to be on that list.
Re: Top 10 alternative-operating-systems
Ha ha ha! I especially like the part where Losethos (Terry A. Davis) plugged himself on that thread:except maybe LoseThos

Re: Top 10 alternative-operating-systems
yeah lol I read that part.
LoseThos will *never* be a Linux/Windows/Mac replacement for one very basic fact, he does not fix errors or make changes based on user-feedback.
Anyways, the list is ok, but the research was half-@$$ed.

None taken, but i think the point of the post, was to put your top 10 alternative-operating-systems, if you did not agree with theres.01000101 wrote:Also, (no offense Dex) but this is a very amature listing of OS's. It seems very unofficial and hear-say'ish.
My list :
I think, they got it right, because i see a big part of the "alternative-operating-systems", is that they should be usable.
You can make expremental OS's, but if they are not self supporting or have loadable drivers, load programs, they are just demo's.
I would add Solar OS to my list.
Re: Top 10 alternative-operating-systems
wow, I totally missed the actual text in the OP, I just went straight for the link.
I would add in QNX, Plan9 and OS/2 Warp.
