Hi
I was thinking of building second computer. I would like to know what the oldest (aka cheapest) motherboard I can get that supports booting from USB flash drive, with hard-disk emulation.
I am aiming to buy a Pentium II / 440BX, so anything older is not worth talking about. Do Pentium II motherboards support USB-HDD booting?
It would be really good if there was a list of USB tested motherboards.
Thank you
What motherboards support USB flash drive booting (USB-HDD)?

Re: What motherboards support USB flash drive booting (USB-H
I think you can get your hands on very decent 2nd hand computers for almost no money, that have at least a P3 or P4. Of course P2 is possible, but you should be able to get more power for free.tom9876543 wrote:I was thinking of building second computer. I have searched the web and found an Intel motherboard document proudly proclaiming new support for USB booting in....... 2001.
Looks like it wasn't implemented before then.
